Stripe Account Restricted or Pending

If your dashboard shows a warning about your Stripe account, here is what each status means and how to resolve it.

Status: Pending verification

What happened: Stripe needs additional information to verify your identity or business. This is standard and typically happens at certain processing thresholds (around $1,500 in volume or 30 days after account creation).

What is affected:

  • Your events remain live and can still sell tickets.
  • This is a warning state, not a block -- but it will become a block if you miss the deadline.

How to fix:

  1. Log in to your Stripe Dashboard (dashboard.stripe.com).
  2. Look for a banner or notification about pending requirements.
  3. Submit the requested documents (commonly government-issued ID, bank statement, or proof of address).
  4. Verification is usually completed within 1-2 business days.

Deadline reminders: Equaticket sends you email reminders at 7 days, 3 days, and 1 day before Stripe's verification deadline. Do not ignore these -- if the deadline passes, charges will be disabled.

Status: Restricted

What happened: Stripe has disabled charges on your account because verification requirements were not met by the deadline, or due to a compliance concern.

What is affected:

  • You cannot publish new events or process new ticket sales.
  • Existing events remain visible but buyers cannot complete checkout.
  • Existing ticket holders and their tickets are not affected.

How to fix:

  1. Log in to your Stripe Dashboard.
  2. Find the outstanding requirements and submit the requested documents.
  3. Once Stripe re-enables charges, your Equaticket account will update automatically via webhook.
  4. You can then resume publishing events and selling tickets.

Status: Disconnected

What happened: Your Stripe account was disconnected from Equaticket. This happens if you deauthorized the Equaticket connection from your Stripe settings, or if Stripe revoked access.

What is affected:

  • All your published events have been automatically paused.
  • No ticket sales can be processed.

How to fix:

  1. Go to Dashboard > Settings > Payments.
  2. Click Connect Stripe Account to start a new connection.
  3. After reconnecting, go to each paused event and click Publish to resume sales.

Note: Events are not automatically re-published after reconnection. You must manually review and re-publish each one.

Cannot reconnect?

If you are having trouble reconnecting, check whether your Stripe account itself was closed or terminated (this is separate from the Equaticket connection). If Stripe closed your account, you will need to create a new Stripe account and connect that instead.
