What happens if an event is cancelled?
If an organizer cancels an event, you get an email about it. Refunds are issued by the organizer: cancelling an event does not refund your tickets automatically.
The cancellation email
The email has the subject Cancelled: (event name) and is sent to the address you used at checkout. It shows your order number, the event date, how many tickets you had and the organizer's name.
If you cannot find it, check your spam or promotions folder.
Getting your money back
- The organizer issues refunds from their dashboard, one whole ticket at a time.
- When a refund is processed, you get a separate refund confirmation email. Your refund is only confirmed once that email arrives.
- The money then usually appears on your card statement within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
If you have not received a refund confirmation, contact the organizer. Their email address is on the event page, and replying to your ticket email usually reaches them. Have your order number ready.
Equaticket does not hold ticket money. Payments go straight to the organizer's own Stripe account, so only the organizer can refund you. See How Refunds Work.
If the organizer does not respond
If you cannot get a refund from the organizer, you can contact your bank or card issuer about the charge. You can also contact Equaticket support.
