Staff Links and Signing Back In at the Door
A staff link is the simplest way to get door staff into the scanner. They open the link once and the scanner opens. They do not need an Equaticket account or an access code.
Copy the staff link
- Open Dashboard > Events > [your event] > Check-in.
- Under Equip your door staff, click Copy staff link.
- Send it to your door staff in a message, or use Send to Staff to email it with the door code as a backup.
Anyone who has the link can open the scanner, so send it only to people working your door. If it reaches someone it should not, use Reset code and sign out all door devices (see below).
How long the link works
The link works until six hours after the doors close. For a multi-day event, that is six hours after the last day's doors close, so one link covers the whole run. If you move the event to a later date, copy a fresh link.
Signing back in
A phone that has used the staff link remembers it. If the browser is closed, the phone restarts, or the session runs out, opening the scanner signs the phone back in on its own. Staff do not need to find the link again.
If a phone has lost its connection, the scanner keeps working from the guest list saved on the phone. Staff are not asked to sign in again just because the signal dropped.
Staff who are Equaticket team members with two-step sign-in turned on may see Verify to continue. Tap it, finish the verification, and you return to the scanner.
End all sessions or Reset code
These two buttons on the Check-in tab do different things.
- End all sessions signs every door device out right now. The staff link and door code still work, so staff can sign straight back in. Use it when a phone is lost or a shift ends.
- Reset code and sign out all door devices replaces the door code and signs everyone out. The old staff link and the old code stop working. Copy the new staff link and send it to the people who should still have access.
Paused and ended events
A paused event can still be opened by staff, so they can sign in early, set up and sync the guest list. Tickets still scan. Paused only stops new ticket sales.
A paused event closes about a day after doors close. Otherwise check-in closes when the event is marked completed, which happens about a day after it ends. After that, staff see a message that check-in is closed. You can still see the guest list and export it from your dashboard.
