Pausing Your Subscription
Between seasons, you can pause a paid plan for up to 90 days instead of cancelling. Billing stops, ticket sales stop, and your account, events and data are kept.
How to pause
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Billing and click Pause subscription.
- Click Confirm pause.
Only an owner or admin can do this. If we couldn't schedule the pause, you'll see an error and nothing changes: try again. Cancelling a pause works the same way.
The pause starts at the end of your current billing period, not today. Until that date you keep full access and your events keep selling, and the Billing page shows the date the pause begins. Changed your mind before then? Click Cancel pause.
While you're paused
- You aren't charged.
- Sales stop. All your published events are paused. Event pages stay visible, but buyers can't buy tickets.
- No publishing. You can't publish events.
- No reminders. Event reminder emails don't go out, because the events are paused.
- Everything else carries on. Your dashboard, data, API keys (at your plan's normal limits) and outbound webhooks keep working.
If you have an event coming up and need tickets to keep selling, don't pause, or reactivate before it.
Reactivating
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Billing and click Reactivate subscription.
- Keep your current plan or choose a different one, then click Reactivate my subscription.
A new billing period starts that day, charged to the card on file. If the card is declined, nothing is charged and your account stays paused: update your payment method in the billing portal and try again. If your bank asks for extra verification, follow the link we show you, then reactivate again. The new billing period has its own ticket allowance, and the screen shows how many tickets you will have available before you confirm.
The events the pause took down go back on sale. Reactivating republishes every event that was on sale when your pause started.
Events you paused yourself stay paused. If you paused an event by hand, open it and click Publish when you're ready.
The rules
- Paid plans only. Your subscription must be active. Resolve any failed payment first.
- 90 days maximum. If you haven't reactivated after 90 days, your paid plan ends and your account moves to the Free plan (see Plans and Pricing). You're not charged, nothing is deleted, and you can upgrade again at any time. The events your pause took down stay paused until you buy a paid plan again.
- Once a year. After a pause ends, you can't pause again for 12 months. The Billing page shows the date you can next pause.
- Annual plans can pause too.
- Not while a cancellation is scheduled. If your subscription is already set to cancel at the end of the period, you can't pause. Undo the cancellation in Manage billing & invoices first, then pause.
- Not during a pay-monthly minimum. If you pay monthly, you can pause once your 3-month minimum is served. See Paying Monthly.
Reminder emails
We email you on day 60 and day 80 of the pause, counted from the day it started, as a reminder that your account moves to Free at day 90. These go to the organization owner's email address.
Pause or cancel?
- Pause if you're coming back within 90 days. Reactivating takes one click.
- Cancel in Manage billing & invoices if you're not coming back soon. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then your plan ends and you move to Free. Your data is kept.
Neither one triggers a refund. The 30-day money-back guarantee is separate, and using it ends your paid plan immediately; see How Billing Works.
