Connecting Your Stripe Account
Ticket payments go straight into your own Stripe account. Equaticket takes no platform cut and never holds your money. You need Stripe only if you sell paid tickets; free events can be published without it.
How to connect
Only organization owners and admins can connect Stripe.
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Payments.
- Click Connect Stripe. Equaticket creates a Stripe account for your organization and sends you to Stripe's setup form.
- Complete the form: business details, bank account and identity.
- Stripe sends you back to the Payments page. The Stripe Account card shows where things stand.
If you close the form partway, nothing is lost. Come back to Dashboard > Settings > Payments and click Finish Setup to pick up where you left off. We also send a few reminder emails while setup is unfinished.
What the Stripe Account card means
The card shows a status message plus your Charges, Payouts and Currencies.
| Card message | What it means | Can you sell paid tickets? |
|---|---|---|
| Connected | Everything is working. | Yes |
| Finish connecting Stripe | You started setup but did not finish Stripe's form. | No |
| Stripe is reviewing your details | You finished the form and Stripe is checking it. Nothing for you to do; this usually takes a few minutes. | Not yet |
| Capabilities pending | Stripe is still approving card payments on your account. | Not yet |
| Verification needed | Stripe needs more information before it turns payments on. | No |
| Payouts paused | You can take payments, but Stripe is holding payouts until you complete its requirements. | Yes |
| Account restricted | Stripe has turned off payments on your account. Your published events are paused. | No |
| Disconnected | Your Stripe account is no longer linked to Equaticket. Your published events are paused. | No |
You can publish a paid event only when the card says Connected (or Payouts paused) and Stripe has no overdue requirements.
For how to fix each of these, see Fixing Stripe account problems.
Verification deadlines
Stripe sometimes asks for more information while your account is working normally. When it sets a deadline, the card shows a Verification Deadline, and we email you 7 days, 3 days and 1 day before it. You keep selling until then. If the deadline passes without the information, Stripe turns off payments and your account becomes restricted.
When do I get paid?
Buyers pay you directly through your Stripe account. Stripe pays out to your bank account on your Stripe payout schedule, which you can view and change in your Stripe Dashboard. Equaticket never holds or forwards your funds, so for payout timing and bank questions, check your Stripe Dashboard or contact Stripe.
Using a different Stripe account
Each organization has one Stripe account connected. To switch, disconnect Equaticket from your current account in your Stripe Dashboard, then set up again from Dashboard > Settings > Payments. Disconnecting pauses all your published events, and you will need to republish each one afterwards, so plan the switch for a quiet time.
