Setting Up Your Business Name, Logo and Colors in Stripe
Buyers pay through your own Stripe account, so the name on their card statement, the look of Stripe's payment page and any Stripe receipt come from your Stripe settings, not from Equaticket. Equaticket does not set these and cannot change them for you. Taking a few minutes to set them up means buyers recognize the charge and trust the payment page.
Your event page uses the logo and colors from Dashboard > Settings > Branding in Equaticket. That is separate from what is described here.
Where each setting shows up
| Setting in Stripe | Where a buyer sees it |
|---|---|
| Icon (square) | Stripe's payment page, receipts and invoices |
| Logo (wide, optional) | Stripe's payment page and invoice PDFs, not receipt emails |
| Accent color | Stripe's payment page, and the background of Stripe receipt emails |
| Brand color | Stripe receipts and invoices, not the payment page |
| Business name | Stripe receipt emails |
| Statement descriptor | The line on the buyer's card statement |
Steps
Stripe sometimes reorganizes its menus. If a label below differs from what you see, use the search box at the top of your Stripe account.
- Sign in to your Stripe account. Go to dashboard.stripe.com and use the same login you used when you connected.
- Open Settings > Business > Branding. Upload an icon and, if you like, a logo, then pick your brand color and accent color. Images must be PNG or JPG, at least 128 by 128 pixels and no larger than 512 KB. A square icon works best.
- Open Settings > Business > Business details and find Public details. Click Edit to check your business name and support contact details.
- On the same Business details page, set the statement descriptor and the shortened descriptor. The full descriptor must be 5 to 22 characters and the shortened one 2 to 10. Use Latin characters only, and avoid the characters < > \ ' " and *.
Make the card statement recognizable
Buyers who do not recognize a charge often dispute it. Make the descriptor something a buyer would connect to your event or organization. Banks do not always display a descriptor the same way, so set both the full and the shortened descriptor and make both recognizable. Stripe may have filled in your descriptor from your business name when you created the account, so check it in the descriptor step rather than assuming it matches. A good order is to confirm your business name first, then the descriptor, then check the shortened one. After changing them, make a small test purchase and look at how the charge appears on your statement. You can refund the test charge afterward from your event's orders page. The statement line can take a few days to appear, so check back before you decide it is wrong.
Stripe receipt emails are optional
Stripe sends its own receipt email only if you turn it on under Settings > Business > Customer emails by switching on Successful payments. Equaticket sends buyers their tickets separately whether or not you do.
