Turning On Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication adds a six-digit code from an authenticator app to your sign-in. It is optional on every plan, and Equaticket never requires it.

Turn it on

  1. Go to Dashboard > Settings > Security. The Authenticator app card shows Not set up.
  2. Click Set up authenticator.
  3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from the app and click Verify and enable.

The card then shows Active, with the date you turned it on. If you see a banner on your dashboard asking you to protect your account with two-factor authentication, it takes you to the same page. Dismissing it hides it for 30 days in that browser.

What changes after you turn it on

Once your authenticator is verified, every session asks for a code from your app, not just the first sign-in. If you are signed in and your session has not been verified with a code yet, the dashboard asks for one before it lets you continue. Resetting a forgotten password also asks for a code first. See Managing your team for how this applies to invites.

Turn it off

On Dashboard > Settings > Security, click Remove, then Yes, remove 2FA. You can turn it on again at any time.

Keep your authenticator app on a device you will not lose. If you lose access to it, contact us.
