Adding a Note for Your Ticket Holders

A note to ticket holders is a short message you write once for an event: where to park, which door to use, what to bring. People who hold a ticket see it after they buy. Nobody else does.

Adding or editing the note

  1. Open your event and go to step 3, Publish.
  2. Find Note to ticket holders below the refund policy.
  3. Type your note. It can be up to 500 characters, plain text only. Line breaks are kept.
  4. Click Save draft (or Save changes on a live event).

You can change or clear the note at any time, including after tickets have sold. It is optional.

Where ticket holders see it

  • Ticket email: in a box headed "A note from" followed by your organization name, above the tickets. Resent tickets include it too.
  • Order confirmation page: on the page buyers land on after paying.
  • Ticket page: when a buyer looks up their tickets from the ticket lookup page, under each upcoming event they hold tickets for. It does not appear for an event where all of a buyer's tickets were refunded, or for events that have already ended.
  • Test ticket: the Send Test Ticket email shows it exactly as buyers will see it, so you can check how it reads.

Timed-entry (time slot) series do not support a note yet. Reminder emails do not include the note. If you change the note after buyers already received their ticket email, they see the new text on the confirmation and ticket pages, but the earlier email keeps the old text.

Who can read it

The note is not shown on your public event page, in your embed, in link previews or in search results. It is still not a secret. Anyone who gets a ticket can read it, including people who get a free ticket or buy with a 100% off promo code. Do not put passwords, private links you would not want shared, or anything personal in it.

HTML is not supported. If you type angle brackets or tags, they show up as plain text.

If something looks wrong

  • The field says the current note could not be loaded: reload the page. Until it loads, the field is locked so a save cannot overwrite your note.
  • Your note was shortened or changed: invisible and formatting characters are removed when you save, and more than three blank lines in a row are reduced to three.
  • Duplicating an event copies the note. Dates in a recurring series do not receive it from the series template; open each date's Publish step to add one.
