Fee comparison
Ticketing platform fees, compared side by side
Last verified: July 2026
Most ticketing platforms take a cut of every ticket you sell. This page lays out exactly what Eventbrite, Luma, TicketSpice, Ticket Tailor, CrowdWork, and Tixr charge, verified against their published pricing, so you can compare the real cost of selling tickets in one place.
Equaticket is the ticketing platform on a mission to end per-ticket fees: we charge a simple flat subscription, not a cut of every ticket.
What each platform charges
Per-ticket platform fees for paid tickets, based on each platform's published standard rates. Payment processing (typically around 2.9% + $0.30 via Stripe or equivalent) applies on every platform and is excluded so the comparison is apples to apples.

Competitor pricing verified as of July 2026. Fees shown are platform fees only and exclude payment processing unless noted. The two volume columns are total platform cost at that volume: per-ticket fees on fee-based platforms, the plan price on flat-subscription plans. Ticket Tailor's prepaid credit discounts and Eventbrite plan variations are covered on the linked comparison pages. CrowdWork's fee is charged on every paid ticket but is passed to the buyer by default, so the venue's own cost is that figure only if it chooses to absorb it. Tixr does not publish pricing.
Platform by platform
Eventbrite fees
Eventbrite charges a service fee of 3.7% plus $1.79 per paid ticket, deducted from every sale, plus 2.9% payment processing on the ticket price and service fee combined. Because part of the fee is a percentage, the cost scales with your ticket price: a $25 ticket carries about $2.72 in service fees, while a $50 ticket carries about $3.64.
For organizers selling steadily, this compounds. At 500 tickets a month at $50 each, Eventbrite's service fees alone total about $1,820 per month, or $21,840 over a year. Source: Eventbrite's published pricing.

Luma fees
Luma's free plan charges 5% of the ticket price on every paid ticket. Its Plus plan is a flat $69/mo with no per-ticket fee, which makes Luma the competitor closest to a flat model. The difference shows up in what the subscription covers: Luma is built around social event pages and RSVPs, while dedicated ticketing needs like embeddable checkout on your own site, door check-in, and ticket-type management are where platforms diverge. TicketSpice fees
TicketSpice charges a flat $0.99 per ticket, reduced to $0.49 for tickets priced $5 and under, plus payment processing. Flat per-ticket pricing is more predictable than a percentage, but it still scales with every sale: 500 tickets a month is $495 in monthly platform fees regardless of how the event performs. Ticket Tailor fees
Ticket Tailor charges $0.85 per ticket on its pay-as-you-go plan. Prepaid credit bundles lower the per-ticket rate, from about $0.70 at the smallest bundle down to $0.30 at large volume, in exchange for paying up front for tickets you have not sold yet. Payment processing is separate on all plans. Source: Ticket Tailor's published pricing.
Full breakdown: Ticket Tailor vs Equaticket.
CrowdWork fees
CrowdWork charges $1.00 per ticket or registration, plus card processing through Square, which CrowdWork requires for paid tickets. The distinguishing detail is who pays it: by default CrowdWork passes the fee to the ticket buyer, so the venue is charged nothing directly and the patron pays the surcharge at checkout. A venue can choose to absorb it instead, at which point 500 tickets a month costs $500 in platform fees. Enabling gift cards or memberships adds 1% of all transactions per feature. Tixr fees
Tixr does not publish a rate card. Pricing is negotiated per client through a sales process, and organizers generally report a percentage-based platform fee plus a per-ticket charge, with amounts varying by contract and volume. Because there are no published numbers, Tixr is listed here without figures; we do not estimate fees we cannot verify. Source: tixr.com (no public pricing page).

Why Equaticket charges differently
The alternative: a flat subscription, not a cut
Every platform above makes more money when you sell more tickets. That is the model we set out to end. Equaticket charges a flat subscription: free for up to 50 tickets a month, with paid plans from $29/mo. There is no per-ticket platform fee on any plan, so selling more never costs you more. Payments run through your own Stripe account, so revenue goes straight to you.
Run the numbers on the worked example above: 500 tickets a month at $50 lands on the Growth plan at $79/mo. The same volume costs about $1,820 a month in service fees on Eventbrite, $1,250 on Luma's free plan, $495 on TicketSpice, and $425 on Ticket Tailor. Paid plans are billed on a quarterly or annual commitment; you can pay monthly, with a 3-month minimum and the freedom to cancel anytime after. See full plans and the savings calculator on the pricing page, or estimate what your last event would have cost elsewhere on the savings page.
This is a mission, not just a pricing table. We think organizers should keep what their audience pays them, and we have written about why. If you are on one of the platforms above today, the switching guide covers migration, including CSV imports that re-issue tickets to your existing buyers. Or start on the free plan; no card required.
Methodology and citing this page
Where these numbers come from
All competitor figures on this page come from each platform's published pricing pages, linked in the sections above, and were last verified in July 2026. We re-verify every figure against published pricing quarterly and update this page when rates change. Figures are US pricing in USD; platform fees only, excluding payment processing, unless noted. Where a platform does not publish pricing (Tixr), we say so rather than estimate. Where a platform charges the buyer rather than the organizer by default (CrowdWork), the table says so in the pricing model column.
You are welcome to cite or link this page. If you spot a rate that has changed before our next verification pass, tell us and we will re-verify and update it.
Frequently asked questions
How much do ticketing platforms charge in fees?
Most ticketing platforms charge per ticket sold. As of July 2026: Eventbrite charges 3.7% plus $1.79 per paid ticket, Luma charges 5% on its free plan, TicketSpice charges $0.99 per ticket, Ticket Tailor charges $0.85 per ticket pay-as-you-go, and CrowdWork charges $1.00 per ticket, passed to the buyer by default. Payment processing of roughly 2.9% + $0.30 applies on top across platforms.
Which ticketing platform has the lowest fees?
It depends on ticket price and volume. For percentage-based platforms like Eventbrite and Luma, fees rise with ticket price. Flat per-ticket platforms like TicketSpice ($0.99) and Ticket Tailor ($0.85) are cheaper for higher-priced tickets. Subscription models like Equaticket (from $0/mo, no per-ticket platform fee) get cheaper per ticket the more you sell, because the cost does not scale with sales.
What does Eventbrite charge per ticket?
Eventbrite charges a service fee of 3.7% plus $1.79 per paid ticket, plus 2.9% payment processing on the ticket price and service fee combined. On a $25 ticket that is approximately $2.72 in service fees per ticket.
Are there ticketing platforms with no per-ticket fees?
Yes. Equaticket charges a flat subscription instead of per-ticket fees, starting free for up to 50 tickets a month with paid plans from $29/mo. Luma’s Plus plan ($69/mo) also removes its per-ticket fee. On both, payment processing still applies through the payment provider.
Do ticket buyers or organizers pay the platform fee?
It varies. Most platforms let organizers either absorb the fee or pass it on to buyers at checkout, which raises the buyer’s final price. On Equaticket there is no platform fee to pass on; organizers can optionally add their own transparent fee at checkout and keep 100% of it, with Equaticket receiving none of it.
How often are the fees on this page verified?
Quarterly. Every figure is checked against each platform’s published pricing page; the current data was last verified in July 2026. The verification date is shown at the top of the page and updates automatically when the underlying data is re-verified.
