Every ticket scan hits the server and returns a definitive pass/fail. No stale local lists, no "I think that one already scanned." Works on any phone with a camera and a browser.
Attendee search
Staff can look up attendees by name or order ID when a QR code won't scan. Handles the "I lost my email" line without slowing down the queue.
Promo code and ticket type visibility

Real-time multi-device sync
Scan from multiple phones simultaneously. Every device sees the same live state via Supabase Realtime. When the front door scans a ticket, the side entrance knows instantly. No double-scans, no radio chatter.
Sub-50ms HMAC verification
Client-side cryptographic validation means the scanner responds before the network round-trip completes. The green checkmark appears while the server confirmation is still in flight. Feels instant because it is.
Offline mode
Venue Wi-Fi dies? Keep scanning. The PWA pre-syncs your full attendee manifest to the device and validates tickets locally via HMAC. Scans queue in the background and sync automatically when connectivity returns. Conflict-aware — if another device already checked someone in while you were offline, you'll see a clear message, not a silent failure.
Event day mode
A full-screen experience built for event day. Bottom tab navigation (Scanner, Search, Recent), live stats strip showing check-in count and sell-through, Supabase Realtime activity feed. Your staff sees one screen, not a dashboard. Launches automatically from the PWA home screen.
Gate and zone management
Set up separate check-in points for GA, VIP, backstage, or any zone you define. Each gate scans independently but shares the same live state. Check-in analytics break down by gate so you know which entrance is moving.
Check-in analytics + CSV export
See check-in rates over time, peak arrival windows, and per-gate breakdowns. Export the full check-in log as CSV for your records or your venue's reporting requirements.
Dedicated check-in staff role
Invite door staff with the check_in_only role. They see the scanner and the event list — nothing else. No access to revenue, settings, or other events. Send them a magic link and they're scanning in seconds, no account creation needed.

Magic link (recommended)
Send an invite email from the dashboard. Your staff member taps the link and they're authenticated and scanning in seconds. HMAC-signed, single-use, expires in 8 hours. No account creation required.
Access code
Generate a short code from the dashboard. Share it verbally or via text. Staff enter it on the check-in page. Good for day-of additions when you can't send an email.
Dashboard login
Team members with dashboard accounts (admin, event manager) can navigate directly to event day mode from the event detail page. "Start Scanning" button appears up to 2 hours before the event starts.
