Changing the Look of One Event

Each event has a Look section that sets the colors of its public event page. Use it when one event should look different from the rest, or when you want the standard Equaticket colors on an event while your other events use your own branding.

Where to find it

When you create or edit an event, open the Look section on the first step, Build event page. The live preview beside the form shows your choice as you make it. Only owners and admins can change it.

Choose your colors

Pick one of three choices:

  • My branding: the event uses the brand color from Dashboard > Settings > Branding. If you have not set a brand color there, the event uses the Equaticket blue and lime. Change your branding later and every event on this choice changes with it.
  • Equaticket default: the Equaticket blue and lime. Your branding settings are ignored for this event.
  • Custom: choose a Brand color and, if you like, an Accent color for this event only. The brand color is required. If you leave the accent empty, we pick one for you.

Changing the colors of one event never changes your other events, and your published page refreshes within a minute or so.

What the colors do

The brand color fills the Your order box and the Admit one area. When the event has no banner, it also fills the default banner. The accent color is used for the Continue button and a few highlights.

The top bar, the footer and the Find my tickets button always keep the Equaticket look.

Readable text, picked for you

You can pick any color. We choose the text color for you so the page stays easy to read:

  • Text on your brand color is white or near-black, whichever reads better.
  • If your accent color would be hard to read on your brand color, we replace it with the readable text color on that part of the page.
  • Lime is used only when the brand color is the Equaticket blue or near-black. On any other color, the accents are white or near-black.

We never change the colors you saved, only what the page shows.

Your logo heads the ticket, in a strip above the banner with Hosted by and your organization name. The strip's See all their events link (More events on a phone) opens your organizer page, which lists your upcoming and past events. When the event has no banner and Show my logo on the default banner is on, your logo sits on the default banner instead, so it only ever appears once. If you have no logo, the first letter of your organization name shows on a colorful gradient. You set your logo in Dashboard > Settings > Branding. Wide logos keep their shape.

Events with no banner

An event with no banner shows a plate in your brand color. The Show my logo on the default banner switch controls whether your logo appears on that plate. It is on by default. Turn it off to show the color alone.

The switch only applies when the event has no banner. If the event has a banner, the switch is off and reads "Used only when you have no banner".

Events with a banner

A banner is always shown exactly as you uploaded it, in a 2:1 frame inside the ticket, with nothing laid over it. Your colors and logo apply to everything around it. A gradient banner is a saved image, so changing the event's colors later does not repaint it. See Creating an Event for how to add a banner.

What buyers see when they buy

Your order box lists the tickets, any organizer fee and a line that reads "Equaticket platform fee $0.00". This line is always shown. See Organizer fees. Continue opens checkout below the tickets, on a white background. On a phone, a summary bar stays at the bottom of the screen.

Recurring series

A recurring series can carry the look from its series template. New dates start with the template's look. If you change the look on one date by hand, Propagate Template leaves that date alone. See Recurring Event Series.

What does not change

Emails are not affected. Your ticket and order emails keep their current look, and emails buyers already have do not change.
